Designers design for people. Food is at the heart of what people need, and it is something that binds us all. It is energy in the broadest sense. Major problems such as far-reaching industrialisation, animal welfare, bee mortality and obesity have given the subject of food an increased

urgency.

Interest in food is growing fast both within the academy and outside it. There is a need for creative minds that can address the various issues within the subject of food. There is great scope for innovation, for clarification, for exposing and questioning traditions and for a more poetic or artistic approach to food.

2)2015.3 米兰工业设计学院(Scuola Politecnica di Design,简称SPD)食物设计硕士课程。

The programme combines a focus on food-related markets with the design approach and methodologies. This creates a food designer who is able to manage the design:

– of processes, methods and spaces where products are processed, distributed and consumed;
– of food in terms of its aesthetics, communication and representation;
– of equipment and tools used to prepare and consume food;
– of all the communication activities implemented for the promotion of food products.

3)兰斯高等艺术学院 École supérieure d’art et de design de Reims,食物设计研究生课程。

...eating is treated as an art : installation, performance, visual arts are part of the food design option practised in the ESAD. But it is also a form

of design, which touches on a powerful societal theme, which involves our future. Food design is interested therefore in the context and the

valorisation of agricultural production, from the transformation by crafts and industry, to the different distribution channels, BtoB or public, in commercial spaces and in tasting, in restaurants or in the domestic context.
