Farmer Brown has a problem.
His cows like to type.
All day long he hears

It was bad enough the cows had found the old typewriter in the barn,now
they wanted electric blankets!"No way."said Farmer Brown."No electric
blankets."

“没门!”
布朗嚷嚷着“我的谷仓不提供电热毯”

So the cows went on strike.
They left a note on the barn door.
他们在谷仓门口留了个字条，上面写着：
Sorry.
We're closed.
No milk
today.
抱歉，今日停奶。

"No milk today!"cried Farmer Brown.In the background.He heard the cows busy at work.
“今天没奶!”布朗惊叫。

The cows were growing impatient with the farmer.They left a new note on the barn door.
奶牛们等啊等，终于，对农场主失去了耐心，它们在谷仓门口留下了一 张新字条：
"No eggs!"cried Farmer Brown.In the background he heard them.

布朗火冒三丈。

Farmer Brown got out his own tyoewriter.
Dear Cows and Hens:
There will be no electric blankets.You are cows and hens.I demand milk and eggs.

农场主拖出了自己的打字机。给奶牛们也写了一封信：
亲爱的奶牛和母鸡：
我不会送给你们电热毯，你们是奶牛和母鸡，理所应当给我牛奶和鸡蛋。

Duck was a neutral party，so he brought the ultimatum to cows.
鸭子作为一个中立派，带着这张最后的通牒去见奶牛。

The cows held an emergency meeting.All the animals gathered around the barn to snoop,but none of them could understand Moo.
奶牛们开了一个紧急会议，农场里所有的动物都围着谷仓里探头探脑，可没有谁听得懂哞哞叫。

All night long,Farmer Brown waited for an answer.
一整个晚上，布朗都在焦急的等着奶牛的回信。

Duck knocked on the door early the next morning.He handed Farmer Brown a note:
第二天一大早，鸭子敲响了农场主的家门，它递给布朗一张字条。
Dear Farmer Brown,
We
will exchange our typewriter for electric blankets.Leave them outside
the barn door and we will send Duck over with the typewriter.
Sincerely,
The Cows
亲爱的农场主：
我们可以用旧打字机来交换电热毯。
请把电热毯放在谷仓门外，我们会让鸭子带走打字机。

Farmer
Brown decided this was a good deal.He left the blankets next to the
barn door and waited for Duck to come with the typewriter.
布朗觉得，这倒是个不错的想法，至少以后不用在听到奶牛们打字的声音了。
他立刻在谷仓门外留下了电热毯，然后就等鸭子带着那台打字机。

The next morning he got a note:
Dear Farmer Brown,
The pond is quite boring.
We'd like a diving board,

第二天天早上，他接到了一张字条，字条是鸭子写的：

住在池塘里面可真无聊，请送我们一块跳水版吧！

【谈判过程】

要一只typewriter——farmer同意了。

barn冷，奶牛要一只电热毯electric blankets——farmer拒绝"No way!"——cows go on strick, no milk today.——再次提出要求：barn冷，鸡也要一只电热毯electric blankets——farmer keep silent，拒绝——让鸡也加入罢工“No milk, No eggs.”——farmer回复：没有electric blankets, and I demand milk and eggs.——召开所有动物参加的紧急会议：我们用typewriter交换electric blankets.——farmer agreed。

第二天收到中间传信的鸭子写的一封信：池塘很无聊，我们想要一块跳水板。
